PUBLIC NOTICE THAT THE GOLDEN VALLEY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD HAS MADE A PROVISIONAL APPOINTMENT TO FILL A SCHOOL BOARD VACANCY

On October 27, 2021, member Brian Freeman of the Golden Valley Unified School District governing board, filed a resignation, resigning his position on the Golden Valley Unified School District School Board, effective on October 27, 2021.          

On December 14, 2021, Shelley Johnson was provisionally appointed by the Golden Valley Unified School District School Board to fill the vacant seat on the Golden Valley Unified School District School Board from December 14, 2021  to December 13, 2022. 

Unless a petition calling for a special election containing a sufficient number of signatures is filed in the office of the Madera County Superintendent of Schools, 28123 Avenue 14, Madera, California 93638, within thirty (30) days of the date of the provisional appointment, it shall become final.

In accordance with Education Code section 5092, this notice will be posted in three (3) public places throughout the Golden Valley Unified School District.  This notice will also be published one time in the Madera Tribune, a newspaper of general circulation.
